| A-D Studio-Based Research (1993-2003)
General Description
Study of the influence of digtial media in the architectural design process, focusing on (1) the interface between analog and digital systems of architectural making and thinking; and (2) the new representation modes that imply a significant break from traditional architectural depiction and communication (i.e., animation, multimedia, video capture and image manipulation, VRML models, Internet communication). This project aims at recognizing new and potentially rich theoretical and operative areas of architectural practice. The A-D Studio Pedagogic Research A-D Workshops Examples |
| Integration of Digital Media in the Architectural Curriculum (1993-2000)
Description
This project has two major and parallel tasks. On one hand, it concerns itself with the redesign of class contents to harness the power of digital environments to integrate and make available old and new kinds of architectural information in lecture and studio courses. On the other hand, the study is directed to the educational, technical and administrative issues associated with the full integration of computers into the curriculum. Visits to three schools of architecture were scheduled to collect detailed information to assist in the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art computer-integrated curriculum. | Visualize! (1991-1995)
Description
Description Computer-based and self-standing educational program that utilizes virtual space to teach architectural representation and simulation to beginning design students. Visualize! introduces the fundamentals of 3D visualization in the context of a playful 3D problem solving environment. Output Funding |
